Kati and David made our job super easy!  We met in The Old City for their engagement session.  I started editing a few pictures for the blog and realized I had picked all “kissy” ones….and I think it’s because it was so obvious how much in love they are, and those seemed the most natural. They had so much fun together and we got to snap away and let them do their own thing.  They are both easy-going and that will definitely make our job easier on their wedding day, too! We can’t wait for their fall wedding. It is right around peak weekend so the colors should be beautiful.  I think this weekend’s chilly weather was just a preview of what it may feel like in October.  Who knows with this crazy weather?  It could still feel like summer in October, just like it did in March.  I think it just likes to keep us guessing and on our toes.

Jessica and Keith set up a last minute engagement session for Saturday morning.  You never know until you ask.  A lot of times we can squeeze sessions in at the last minute.  Unfortunately I had another session cancel due to illness, but we will get it made up soon.  Keith came down from New Jersey for the weekend and was surprised with a fun engagement session.  Jessica kept picking on him and accusing him of not smiling or fake smiling.  I think it worked!  I got some great smiles from both of you!  I love all the laughter and fun shots we got!  That’s what I love to see in engagement sessions…well all sessions really- fun and real!  Here’s a quick peak of the pictures we got on a beautiful spring day.

Wedding planning can be tricky but even trickier from another state.  Luckily, Tim and Jessie came down from Indiana this past weekend to work on some of their wedding planning.  It’s so nice to start crossing things off your list.  Their wedding will be on Norris Lake at a property of a friend.  We met up with them “near” there at Big Ridge State Park.  I say near because it was only 12 miles away, but unfortunately that was by water.  Driving around the lake took closer to an hour.  (Thanks for making the drive!)  They also picked a perfect weekend to visit.  The weather, luckily, cooperated perfectly!  Tim and Jessie were a blast to work with too!  They were both fun-loving and looked so natural behind the camera.  It’s not always that easy for everyone, but they made it look easy.  They just had fun together and that’s really what works best.  We don’t like for the pictures to look so stiff and posed.  Natural is the look we shoot for!  You can see in their pictures that they are in love!  Thanks for letting us do pictures for you!  You guys are awesome!

Decisions, decisions…  What a great idea that Erin Shellman, Private Events Director of Club Le Conte came up with!  We teamed up with her, Lisa Foster Floral Design, and White Table Specialty Linen & Chaircover Rentals to create eight wedding themes to help brides visualize the space in Club Le Conte’s many rooms.  The flowers by Lisa Foster were as beautiful as always.  We’ve had several past brides use her team and you can always tell the creativity and precision that goes into their work.  It was great actually meeting Lisa and Kim and working with them!  Their shop must be a fun place to work and visit.  If you stop by their shop in the Bearden area, you can walk next door to see White Table Linens and Wedding Wonderland, to find the perfect dress, all in one stop.  Dorinda of White Table put together some beautiful linen combinations for the eight table set-ups.  There are so many possibilities with each color combination.  I loved some of the textured table cloths and the chair covers really make a difference in the look of each table.  We even learned some cool ways to tie chair sashes and some new napkin folds.  It was great working with everyone and enjoying the best lunch we’ve had in a while at Club Le Conte.  The food was delicious!  The seared scallops and crab meat pasta makes my mouth water thinking about it now.  Brides, if you are still thinking about a reception venue, it is definitely worth your time to meet with Erin at Club Le Conte.  She is great to work with and has some affordable options.  Amy had her reception there in 2009.  It is a beautiful place overlooking downtown Knoxville.

So, what could your reception look like?  That’s what we teamed up to show you.  Which is your favorite?

Wow!  So we should have started this photo session a few hours earlier.  We were excited when Whitney said they had a beautiful garden to use for their engagement photos.  Little did we realize, this garden was endless.  Everywhere we turned we saw another pretty spot.  We could have gone on like this all day.  There were plants of all sorts, numerous paths and stairs, beautiful flowers, and a dock on the Tennessee River. Fortunately the scenery was more cooperative than the weather.  The rain teased us a time or two but held off for the most part, leaving us with a light drizzle.  Whitney and Nathan were great and up for anything.  We pulled them around the gardens until the darkness ran us away.

Nathan and Whitney are getting married next spring in Destin, FL.  I’m a little partial to beach weddings for a couple of reasons.  One- I LOVE the beach!  :)   Two- My sister got married in Destin this past May.  It was such a fun place to have a wedding!  Here are a few of her beach wedding photos.

What a warm, humid weekend it was. Thanks Ashley and Travis for suffering through the heat! We had a lot of fun with you both! Glad the gurgly baby noises helped with some smiles. We can’t wait for your wedding!

What a cute couple! We can’t wait for the wedding in June! It was a kind of gray morning downtown, but the breeze felt good and the sun came out, eventually. We had the whole crew out today- Kristy, Amy, and our intern, Caitie. It’s fun to work with each other and have the extra help. Now, we’re off to do some more editing…just a quick peek. We hope you love them!

Heidi and Daniel only had a few days to choose from for their engagement session while Daniel was in town. Watching the weather, we luckily chose the best day possible, squeezed between the snow and freezing temps. They are such a sweet couple and had a lot of fun together. Daniel is a natural and had so many great ideas! Thanks! We’re looking forward to their June wedding and warmer weather.

I had a great time with these two yesterday running around. We took some of the photos at Tremont in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park because Dusty is an avid outdoorsmen and fly-fisherman instructor. It was a great excuse for me to be up there—it had been months. I’ve known Alyson since middle school and I just love her to death. We always laugh when we’re together and had fun reminiscing about our high school senior trip to the beach. I really like Dusty and I’m so happy for them! The big day will be here before you know it. Congrats you two!
