What can I expect on the day of my portrait session?

We’ll meet you at a location of your choice (usually within 50 miles of Knoxville, TN…see the “locations” question below for several ideas). We like to start our sessions in the evening or early morning. The session will usually take anywhere from 1 to 2 hours, depending on the cooperation of the rugrats, if there are any. Please make sure your children are well-fed and rested before a session, if possible! But don’t worry, we have children and know how tricky that can be sometimes. Lollipops and candy go a long ways for bribery. We will create some posed images and add lots of fun photojournalistic shots, too!

When do I pay for my session?

Upon booking, you will be asked to mail a $50 fee to secure your session date. The balance will be due at the time of your session. We accept payment in the form of cash, check or Paypal.

What should we wear?

Clothing can make or break family photos. No, you don’t have to go out and spend money on new outfits, but if you’d like to, go for it! It’s not like you won’t wear the clothes again. However, we’re sure you can easily find something in your closet. Forget about trying to match perfectly, and go for colors that complement each other. Things we love: jeans, layers, scarves, fun hats, well-behaved pets, pressed clothing, lipstick and cute boots. What we don’t suggest: solid white shirts (they wash out easily), baseball caps, suits.

What happens after my session is over?

We know you’re super excited to see your images! With permission, we’ll post a blog preview within a few days of your session. We’ll have your final images ready for viewing on an online gallery within two weeks.

What is a digital proof CD?

This is the most FREQUENTLY asked question. The digital proof CD is exactly what it says—proofs. It’s a CD of all of the edited images from your session, in low resolution quality, meaning they are not suitable for printing. We give you this CD so you can post your images on your blog or Facebook page. The images contain our logo, and our copyrighted to us. We offer the full resolution disc for an additional price.
